Entry Level Chemical Lab Technician

We are immediately hiring for an Entry-Level Lab Technician in the Columbus area! This role will primarily be performing testing on small metals and similar materials. An ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or similar and 1 year of Lab experience!

Job Description:

This role will focus primarily be performing sample preparation, test preparation and execution, data analysis, and project support. This will include characterizing the microstructure and physical properties of products using various methods such as optical and scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), X-ray diffraction, hardness, tensile/yield strength testing, and Keyence image analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples by dissecting sputtering targets from manufacturing or clients, sawing, cutting, and polishing to prep for testing.
• Perform laboratory testing, including microscope analysis, chemical testing, and physical testing (hardness, tensile, strength).
• Conduct X-ray diffractions.
• Set up equipment, assemblies, and experiments.
• Collect data per work instructions or experimental plans.
• Prepare reports with data and analysis.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field such as Chemistry, Materials Science, or similar. May consider candidates with an Associates Degree as well.
• Some industry experience would be a PLUS!
• Must be mechanically aptitude. (can be outside a lab setting)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
