Medical Laboratory Scientist Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to join our clinical laboratory team. In this essential role, you will perform complex testing and analysis that provides critical data for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. You'll work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, collaborating with pathologists, physicians, and other professionals to ensure the highest standards in laboratory medicine.
Medical Laboratory Scientist Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-complexity testing in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and blood bank.
- Analyze, interpret, and validate results to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and compliance with regulatory standards (CAP, CLIA, COLA, etc.).
- Troubleshoot technical issues and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with medical staff to provide timely and reliable diagnostic information.
- Train and mentor laboratory personnel or students as needed.
Medical Laboratory Scientist Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
- National certification (ASCP or equivalent) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) required.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment.
