We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Senior Scientist to join our Immunology Cell Therapy Discovery team. This role focuses on active laboratory involvement and collaboration to advance cell therapy discovery projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong teamwork skills, a willingness to learn, and a humble attitude.
AccountabilitiesHands-On Laboratory Work: Lead and actively participate in lab-based research to support both ex vivo and in vivo cell therapy initiatives, including the development and execution of advanced assays and cell processing techniques.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive cell therapy discovery efforts in the field of immunological diseases, contributing to AstraZeneca's innovative research portfolio.
Expert Knowledge Development: Engage in continuous learning to enhance expertise in immunological disease biology and cell therapy, staying abreast of the latest scientific advancements.
Project Leadership: Manage and support the development of in vitro assays and cell therapy processes, validating novel therapeutic strategies and approaches.
Regulatory and Compliance Awareness: Ensure that all research activities adhere to regulatory standards and company policies, prioritizing safety and ethical considerations.
Essential Skills/Experience- Advanced Degree: PhD in Virology, Immunology, Molecular or Cell Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field, coupled with a passion for hands-on scientific research with 0-2 years of experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with cell culture, genetic engineering technologies, viral vector design, and in vitro/in vivo assay development.
- Team-Oriented Mindset: Strong collaboration and communication capabilities, with a commitment to working effectively and humbly within diverse teams.
- Learning and Innovation: Demonstrated eagerness to explore new technologies and approaches in cell therapy, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Industry Experience: Familiarity with the cell therapy and genetic engineering landscape, along with a track record of impactful research contributions.
- Publication Record: A history of peer-reviewed publications in relevant scientific areas.
